In the Berrien Springs school district, 67% of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Of these eligible students, 98% qualify for free breakfasts and lunches on school days.
But these children need to eat on weekends, too. Often there isn’t enough food in their refrigerators or cupboards to feed them. So on non-school days, they go hungry.
That’s why we started Backpacks for Berrien. Because as a community we CAN stop their hunger. We just need your help to do it.
